What the Spock?

Just watch.

Childhood flashback

lol, anyone here ever watch “Captain Planet”? well, I found an old episode on youtube and thought wow… and I was watching the intro and the last guy’s power was “heart” WTF is that lame power? I mean everyone had element based powers and the one dude gets the short end of the stick and just to substitute, the writers made it so that “heart” seemed uber tight. XD ROFLMAO CAPTAIN PLANET!!!!!!!!

Crossover Mac=ingenious

Hey everyone, doing a review on “Crossover Mac” by the Codeweaver. Crossover is a program on your mac that basically lets you run certain Windows apps without dual booting or creating a fully interactive Virtual PC. It is build on “Wine” which is sort of like a unix based windows emulator in the mac POV. It’s really simple, I had MS office running on my macbook in a matter of minutes, pooped in the install CD and went through an almost standard MS office install and the best part is, it isn’t a CPU hog. It’s been somewhat stable so far, but that’ll have to be tested over time. Now support wise, they cover the majority of programs that I would need to go back to windows for, but their photoshop support it is a bit subpar, being that they support up to CS2. Otherwise, it’s just great. Also to note, this isn’t for game support, for games they have a separate program known as  ”Crossover Games.” Here’s a link to crossover http://www.codeweavers.com/products/ I did look over their game support and it’s pretty up to date, titles such as Portal, WoW, Half-Life 2, Counterstrike and Counterstrike:source.

Whoo! New bike parts!

hey guys, today I went out to Landry’s bicycles in Boston and bought some new handlebars, I don’t plan on installing them for about a month or so, or at least until I can get some new brake levers. If you ask why, it’s because right now I have mountain bike brakes and shifters, I plan on buying some V brake compatible drops and friction shifters. Here are some pics.

Sorry, it’s a bit shaky, the close up will do it more justice.

It’s by Profile Design (Duh) and is the Italian stem diameter standard (26 mm).

Now for the bike savvy crowd that may come to this blog, you may question my choosing of friction shifters. My answer?

They’re dirt cheap, $10 a pair, and at the same time not that unusable, I’ve found actually that they provide a bit more smoother shifting than the newer indexed shifters, as long as you are careful with moving the lever. Hooray! :D (don’t mind my retarded thumb)

Union Oyster House

Hey Everyone, just today I had lunch at the Union Oyster House, and all I have to say,  is that it was great.

Just so ya know, I have already tweeted the photos on twiter at the time of the event, so, follow me on twitter so you don’t have to go through these boring blog posts! Follow me @ http://twitter.com/ipodish

Here’s a pic of the sign outside.

It’s in downtown Boston, near the Quincy Market, so if you’re ever nearby check it out.

The food was great, but the results of my spaghetti-shrimp–iced tea-parmesan cheese-clam chowder experiment weren’t.

Disturbing……

Well, some of the things I would recommend you get there though is the clam chowder, since, well, it’s delicious. Too bad I ate it all before I could take a picture of it XD. Oh yes, and the atmosphere makes it seem quite old…well, the restaurant credits itself as America’s oldest running restaurant…..

here’s a pic of a picture literally painted on the wall.

Firefox 3.1 beta

The Firefox Beta 3.1 was released a short while ago, and being that I love testing out betas from companies that I have good relations with, I decideded the give the new firefox beta a go. As from what I’ve read, this is a performance upgrade, in particular java performance, the integration tracemonkey, some location services and etc, etc, more info @ http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.1b1/releasenotes/

It is fast, a bit buggy, but when it is, it’s really, really fast. I did some side by side comparison with safari, and from firefox’s web page loading behavior was more of it would load everything at once, rather than loading each item at a time, which would be faster….sometimes.

So, my hopes for the next release (beta 2) is that most of the performance problems are ironed out

Oh yes, and to those people who don’t know how to enable Tracemonkey if they’ve downloaded the new beta, in your address bar type in “about:config” then in the little search bar that appears search for “javascript.options.jit.content” then change he value from false to true by clicking on it.

Download the beta at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

Crap it’s cold

Winter is just around the corner and it already feels really, really cold. Sure it’s cold, which isn’t too bad, but my muscles seem to slow down a lot, in particular ones in my hands. Now his really sucks because I can’t type and writing is a beyond impossible, and don’t even ask about playing the clarinet. Hmm, maybe I should get a pair of gloves….but then again I have to take them off everytime my hands start to sweat or when I have to play clarinet……bah. I’ll stick to being cold
